Backpack Blessings Program

Coordinator: Leota E Dinwiddie

The Laquey Backpack Blessings program is a community program welcoming any and all participants to be involved. No school or government funds are used to fulfill our obligation to the children who receive bags. It is out of the love for the children and concern for their welfare that we function as a ministry.

Backpack Blessings is a cooperative ministry of area churches, businesses, and organizations. We greatly appreciate the support from many individuals as well. Each week volunteers get together at the Independence Baptist Church to pack bags of easy to enjoy food items that are distributed to classrooms. We do not discriminate in any basis.

We also appreciate the local businesses, organizations, and individuals that are providing food and support for the many children we minister to each week.

We are feeding children in grades Pre-K to the Sixth grade. We pack the bags on Wednesday afternoon and  they receive their bag of food each Thursday or Friday to take home for the weekend. Thank God for all He has done to help with the provisions for this program. I want to thank everyone who comes and helps pack the bags each Wednesday. Everyone is appreciated.

Donations to support this program are much needed and greatly appreciated. For information you can contact us through email at church@independencebaptistchurch.com or phone at 573-528-0176 (Leota Dinwiddie)
