John Dinwiddie - Pastor
E-mail John

It was the first Sunday in October 2003 that I had the privilege of "filling in" at Independence.  After that I served as interim from November 2003 until April 2004 when Independence felt led to call me as regular pastor. I have been so blessed to be a part of what God is doing in this wonderful church family. To be a part of such a kind, accepting, and loving family of believers is a bit rare in this day but it sure is good. If you are looking for a church home I would definitely extend an open-armed invitation to visit Independence Baptist Church! God is at work and I invite you to be a part of it. Each Sunday morning I seek to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as we meet together for Sunday School and Worship.

Most important is showing people the way to Jesus! Religion is man's effort to reach God. But God offers so much more! God wants a relationship with each of us. That relationship begins when we ask for forgiveness for our sins and invite Jesus Christ to come into our life as Savior and Lord. That is just the beginning! Each day we can get closer as we obediently walk away from sinful habits and move closer to the God who loves us out of our sins.

I enjoy working with every age group from the littlest ones in the nursery to the dear saints that have so faithfully served for years. Our ministry at the Richland Care Center has now been moved to Saturday afternoons twice per month. I love the opportunity to meet with our children and youth each Saturday evening. We are truly blessed!

Sometimes it is difficult to balance between my schedule at school and my responsibilities to the church. I sure don't want to let anyone down, but especially my Lord! If I can be a help to you at any time please feel free to let me know. It may take me a little bit, but I will be there as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Pastor John Dinwiddie
